ForMAX Course for PhD Students and Academic/Industrial Researchers/Postdocs with Basic Synchrotron Knowledge

Welcome to a 3-Day Beam-Time Crash Course at the MAX IV National Laboratory, ForMAX beamline, organised by Treesearch. Under the practical supervision of Kim Nygård and Jonas Tejbo, you will be able to perform the Beam-Time measurements on your own samples.

To register, please complete the form below and send a PROPOSAL to anaria@kth.se by April 1st, 2026 at the latest. The number of spots is limited. So the teachers reserve the right to close registration before the deadline if the desired number of applicants with suitable proposals is reached in advance.

This Course is for PhD Students and Academic/Industrial Researchers/Postdocs with Basic Synchrotron Knowledge (e.g. completed FKF3420 and/or WWSC Academy Synchrotron Characterisation courses).

Learning objectives:

  • Plan and perform your own Synchrotron Beam-Time under the practical supervision of Kim Nygård and Jonas Tejbo
  • Sample preparation and experimental set-up planning under the supervision of Tomas Rosén
  • Data analysis guidelines by Emanuel Larsson
  • Practice how to write a successful Synchrotron Beam-Time Proposal
