The Bootcamp course provides a unique chance to deepen your knowledge of the core processes of the forest industry – from wood chips to finished products. Over two intensive weeks, theoretical lectures are combined with practical laboratory sessions at Karlstad University.

“Bootcamp is a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to gain insight into the industry’s processes, whether you are newly employed in the industry or working in academia,” says Björn Sjöstrand, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Karlstad University and course coordinator.
The aim of the course is to give participants a comprehensive understanding of how the forest industry operates, from raw material to final product. The course is designed as a hybrid, with online lectures and on-site lab sessions in Karlstad, where theory and practice are integrated to create a deeper understanding.
One of the previous participants is Mozhgan Hashemzehi, PhD student at Karlstad University. She joined Bootcamp as a newly admitted doctoral student and describes the experience as crucial for her continued research:

“The knowledge and skills I acquired during the course have been invaluable for my research and academic journey. I encourage my fellow PhD students to take the opportunity to join the next Bootcamp course. This course truly provides valuable experiences,” says Mozhgan Hashemzehi.
Bootcamp is specially aimed at PhD students, postdocs, and newly employed industry professionals who want to gain a deeper understanding of the processes in the forest industry. The course is open to everyone associated with Treesearch or active at one of Treesearch’s partner organizations.
