Limited spots per study visit – secure your spot in the registration form!

The study visits takes place April 14 starting at 10:00 from Vildmarkshotellet

Option 1: The Braviken mill

Discover how advanced technology and sustainable forest resources come together at Braviken Paper Mill. Join us for an inspiring visit to one of Holmen’s, and the world’s, most technologically advanced paper mills, where innovation meets flexibility through a uniquely rebuilt paper machine. Our paper production is based on integrated thermomechanical pulp, enabling highly efficient use of raw materials and energy. Here, we can seamlessly alternate between producing graphic paper and containerboard, all according to the needs of our customers and the market. During the visit, you’ll gain insights into modern paper production, meet our experts, and explore how sustainable forestry is transformed into high-value paper products for the future. You will also get a glimpse of the sustainable and resource-efficient co-location with the adjacent sawmill, where industrial symbiosis further strengthens our circular approach.

Option 2: The forestry

Discover the sustainable essence of forest materials through the lens of sustainable forestry practices. Embark on an engaging study tour, hosted by the Treesearch partner Holmen, to delve deeper into the world of Swedish forestry. Take the chance to visit one of Holmen’s forests, where you’ll have the opportunity to engage with their experts and gain valuable insights into innovative forestry techniques!

About Holmen

Holmen is a Swedish forest company whose operations are powered by the forests and the land we manage. The growing trees, flowing water and wind across our landscapes form the heart of the company – creating value from a renewable resource.

For technically interested people, Holmen is where engineering, production and nature meet. We manage the forest from seed to harvest and refine the raw material into wood products, paperboard and paper used in buildings, packaging and printed material — ensuring every part of the tree is used. Together with our customers, we develop solutions that meet high expectations. We also produce renewable energy from water and wind, forming a long‑term industrial business shaped by circular flows and the interaction between people, technology and the forest.

When: April 14, starting at 10.00.

Where: The buses leave from Vildmarkshotellet to take us to one of  Holmen’s forests in the region or to the mill Braviken.

Note: The forest study visit is taking place outdoors. Please dress according to the weather.
