Bond strength is commonly used today as the primary measure of a glued product’s ultimate failure characteristics. While it is essential for ensuring product performance, bond strength alone is not sufficient to define most other properties. Once an adequate level of bond strength is achieved, characteristics such as bond stiffness, Fracture Toughness and other interfacial properties of the bond line become more influential in determining the overall behavior of the product.
