Green chemistries for biobased polymers

This project is part of the BioGlue Centre (https://www.slu.se/en/departments/forest-biomaterials-technology/bioglue-centre/), which is a co-operation between three universities and many industries aiming to have a better understanding around adhesives and bonding for wood materials in different sectors, such as furniture, construction, and packaging. In this project specifically, the aim is to map suitable and available bio-based raw materials for adhesives, characterize them, possibly tailor them by modification or post-functionalization, and enhance their properties by additives, following the principles of green chemistry. Evaluation of the synthesized materials will be made via lab-scale methods. Modeling/simulation to predict adhesive properties will also be performed in collaboration with other BioGlue projects.
