As more and more conferences are cancelled due to the corona pandemic, Treesearch and WWSC want to contribute to the open scientific conversation by starting a virtual conference series. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, researchers, doctoral students and postdocs will talk about their research in new material from the forest on Treesearch’s YouTube channel.
– We realized that there was a need for a forum where you could have scientific discussions during these special times, says Daniel Söderberg, director of Treesearch and researcher in WWSC.
Daniel was also the first to present when he presented Challenges for spinning fibers from nanocellulose on Tuesday. The premiere was successful; the stream had 55 followers and the discussion that followed showed on an engaged live audience. On Wednesday night, the presentation had 175 views.
The series will continue this spring, next upcoming speaker is professor Eva Malmström, KTH, on March 26. View the full program and read abstract at: treesearch.se/treesearch-wwsc-virtual-conference-series (updated continuously)
The presentations take place every Tuesday at 10.15 and every Thursday at 13.15.
