Article in Forskning & Framsteg highlights new materials from wood
In its latest issue, the popular science magazine Forskning & Framsteg has made a deep dive into what is possible to do with the forest as raw material.

The transparent wood is an example that the magazine Forskning & Framsteg brings up. The picture is taken in a different context.

The article focuses on the expression “Everything that is made of oil can be made of forest” and then shows exciting examples of both research and development projects. Participating in the article are WWSC doctoral student Celine Montari and Professor Lars Berglund, who present the now completely bio-based transparent wood.

The article highlights that there is really a lot going on in the area. And according to Professor Lars Berglund, it is possible to do even more.

– When it comes to making sophisticated nanomaterials, we humans are happy amateurs, compared to what nature builds through biosynthesis, states Lars Berglund in the newspaper.
