Impact of compaction parameters on the mechanical properties of highly extensible paper
Treesearch research themes:
3–material forming, 4–material concepts
The possibility of producing three-dimensional advanced paper structures create the conditions for replacing plastic-based solutions or plastic details in packaging with multi-material and contributes in an essential way to strategies for a sustainable social development . Within this context, the project deals with the challenge of producing highly stretchable paper for 3D forming applications through in-plane compaction . The final goal is to identify and evaluate the impact of different compaction parameters in the final mechanical properties of highly extensible paper for the highest possible degree of stretchability to be achieved.
Treesearch aims at creating a national platform to support the research on new materials from the forest. Research projects conducted within Treesearch research areas and the researchers who are active in these projects are welcome to join the platform.
