Research area:

The Project aims to study plasticization of cellulose derivatives by water and active pharmaceutical ingredients. The project will use and develop scattering techniques, different mechanical thermal, and permeability characterization techniques such as SAXS and WAXS, DMA/DMA+RH, DSC and oxygen permeability at different RH. The purpose is to better understand how cellulose derivatives interact with water (water-polymer interactions) as a plasticizer and how that affects the properties of the cellulose derivatives, stability of the drug and drug release rate.
