Research area:

My research focus area is to study genetic and process strategies to engineer microbial populations with regards to their: (i) biochemical activity, (ii) physiological fitness and (iii) phenotypic stability. Current activities involve developing recombinant yeast systems for production of biochemicals, and developing analytical procedures based on flow cytometry and FACS (Fluorescence-activated cell sorting) for rapid screening of large cell populations and as tool to study lactic acid bacteria and yeast during bioprocessing.
