PhD project: Chemical and physical incorporation of bio-molecules into capillary-porous bio-materials for energy savings
Supervisor: Mohamed Jebrane
Dissertation planned to: 2023
I am interested in mechanical characteristics of wood and wood fibers as a bio-based porous structure to shape stabilize and micro-encapsulate organic bio-based phase change materials (OBPCMs) for energy storage purposes in buildings. We aim at enhancing thermal and physical capabilities of wood fibers as cost effective, renewable and sustainable bio-based materials for building applications with focus on energy management.
Research theme: 1–wood components, 3–material forming, 4–material concepts
Treesearch aims at creating a national platform to support the research on new materials from the forest. Research projects conducted within Treesearch research areas and the researchers who are active in these projects are welcome to join the platform.
