PhD project: Sustainable fibrillation of wood for use as reinforcement in biocomposite

Research area:
The research area is focused on developing energy-efficient methods for the fibrillation of wood. Fibrillation will be carried out through the extrusion process using twin-screw extruders, followed by compounding the fibrillated fibers with a suitable matrix to develop biocomposites in a one-step process.
