The aim of this project is to develop bio-polymeric films that mimic the plant-cuticle in its structure, function and properties so as to be used as a barrier material on primarily paper and board and other wood-related moisture-sensitive materials. The practical work involves polymer synthesis, polymer processing and characterization of polymers.
Treesearch aims at creating a national platform to support the research on new materials from the forest. Research projects conducted within Treesearch research areas and the researchers who are active in these projects are welcome to join the platform.
