In general, my research focusses on the development of experimental and numerical techniques to study the moisture flow and moisture–induced mechanical behaviour of wood. During my time as a postdoctoral candidate, the main focus was on the long–term behaviour of timber elements. At the moment, as a postdoctoral researcher, the focus is on microscopic computed tomography aided finite element modelling to obtain material properties that can be used to model the moisture–induced mechanical behaviour of wood.
Treesearch aims at creating a national platform to support the research on new materials from the forest. Research projects conducted within Treesearch research areas and the researchers who are active in these projects are welcome to join the platform.
