- In general, my research focusses on the development of experimental and numerical techniques to study the moisture flow and moisture–induced mechanical behaviour of wood. During my time as a postdoctoral candidate, the main focus was on the long–term behaviour of timber elements. At the moment, as a postdoctoral researcher, the focus is on microscopic computed tomography aided finite element modelling to obtain material properties that can be used to model the moisture–induced mechanical behaviour of wood.
