Research area:

The objective is to obtain a novel pulp type with fiber properties that match or exceed the typical requirements of kraftliner pulp. The pulp yield is expected to be at least 80%. By doing the laboratory testing includes mechanical pretreatment (Asplund refining) and chemical post-treatment to ensure good fiber separation and sufficient fiber quality. The chemical post-treatment is carried out using ‘unconventional’ solvents, such as peracetic acid or ILs.
