Lignin based fluorescent materials

Systematic study of the nature of lignin fluorescence mechanisms is still lacking, i.e., the relationship between lignin’s chemical structure/supermolecular structure and fluorescence properties including emission peaks/intensity, wavelength, and lifetime. Rare work is on modulation of lignin’s fluorescence properties through chemical structure modification. Lignin-based fluorescence materials design and application need further exploration.
